The Poulton Hill Estate Sparkling Wine is a delicate lemon yellow colour with a very slight touch of pink to it. The nose is a lovely blend of English summer fruits, with green apple, elderflower, a touch of gooseberry and cut grass. There is also a very slight note of sherbert apple here too. The palate is equally lovely and reminiscent of an English summer. Notes of crisp green apple, with more elderflower, fresh lemon zest and flesh, a touch of green lime and gooseberry. The wine is delicate in the mouth, with good acidity, a very fine mousse and lingering candied apple notes.
ABOUT THE WINE:
The Poulton Hill Estate grapes were carefully hand harvested in October 2012 when the grapes had reached their optimal ripeness. After harvest the Poulton Hill Estate is made in the traditional method, with the second fermentation taking place in the bottle. The wine spent a year on it's lees before disgorging and labeling.
