Our family-run vineyard consists of 9.5 hectares on sunny south-facing greensand slopes overlooking the South Downs in West Sussex. The greensand is free-draining – which is essential for growing vines in a country renowned for the occasional rain shower. For us, it is the terroir of choice. It took us five years to find the perfect place to plant vines.
The underlying greensand rock also stores heat from the sun and reflects it to help ripen the grapes. Our vines are the classic champagne varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Our clones are burgundian, selected for their quality.
