Vines of the North

Vines and propagation material of grape varieties suitable for northern UK conditions to be available late 2021. Vines are first-year rooted cuttings propagated aeroponically from either hardwood or semi-hardwood cuttings. Prices and availabilty to be announced. 

Short-Season varieties for open field growing or producing a very early crop under cover. All have seeds unless otherwise stated:

AGAT DONSKI Russian red table grape.

ALIOSHENKIN Russian white table grape.

COSMONAUT Russian red table grape.

JUODUPE Lithuanian blue-black table grape, blueberry-flavour (see news item Dalrossach Vineyard: Early August Table Grape Harvest). V

JUBLIENKA NOVGORODA Russian white wine grape.

LANDOT 2317. French hybrid red wine grape. Similar to Foch but ripens 10 days earlier.

MICHURINETS Russian red wine grape.

ZILGA Latvian blue-black table grape. Ripens around 10 September outdoors here.


For greenhouse or polytunnel growing:

CONCORD American blue-black table grape. Very productive. Ripe in late September here.

FOSTERS WHITE SEEDLING Victorian white table grape. Surprisingly good disease resistant for a grape variety of its time. Ripe by mid September here.

KANDIYOHI American table grape. (see news item Dalrossach Vineyard: ES4-14 Kandiyohi).
