Albourne Vineyard

:Award-winning Albourne Vineyard in West Sussex is home to Gaultsbrook sparkling wine. The vineyard looks out across the South Downs National Park towards Devil’s Dyke, and is one of the closest to Brighton and Hove.

The idyllic setting, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, is on terroir perfect for growing sparkling wine grapes - the meeting of Lower Greensand and Gault clay ridges, divided by Cutler’s Brook, an alder-lined stream to the south of the vineyard that eventually drains into the River Adur.

The vineyard grows the classic ‘sparkling wine’ combination of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes; pruning, tendering and harvesting are all by hand, producing high quality grapes that give Gaultsbrook its authentic and distinctive style. Our Brut sparkling wine is produced in the traditional method by award-winning wineries in Sussex.

Gaultsbrook’s exceptional quality has been recognised in national and international competitions. Gaultsbrook 2008 was awarded Silver Medals by the UK Vineyards Association in their ‘2011 UK Wine of the Year’ competition, and The South East Vineyards Association in their ‘2011 South East Wine of the Year’ competition. Gaultsbrook 2009 achieved international recognition winning a Bronze Medal in the 2012 ‘International Wine Challenge’ competition. Gaultsbrook 2010 has now been released for sale.
