Exton Park Vineyard
:Exton Park is a relatively new vineyard, set on the slopes of the wide rolling chalklands at the heart of Hampshire. The result of three careful plantings over the last ten years, Exton is one of the largest – at 55 acres – in the county, on terroir that precisely mirrors the famous Champagne vineyards just eighty miles away across the Channel. And with a similar cool, northerly climate.
It was a natural decision, therefore, to plant the three main grape varieties on which Champagne is based – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier – and to focus on making some of the finest sparkling wine in England. From this single vineyard.
With a state-of-the-art winery, a new look at rootstocks to develop unique characters, and a talented French winemaker, Exton Park is well on the way to doing just that.
