Johanniter

Johanniter is a white grape variety . The grape was grown in 1968 by Johannes Zimmermann of the wine-growing institute in Freiburg as fungus-resistant . It is the result of crossings between Riesling , Seyve-Villard , Ruländer , and Gutedel .

The grape was named after the breeder because he had such a forward-looking look as head of the Freiburger Institute regarding mold-resistant grape varieties. Outstanding agreement with her mother's grape de Riesling, are undeniable. Both the grape, the bunch and the leaf. The harvest time is a little earlier in the year.

Against false mildew and real mildew , the grape is fairly well resistant and furthermore frost proof . On the other hand, she is susceptible to chlorosis and susceptible to botrytis and black rot.
