Divico
Divico is a hybrid species of grape. Invented in 1997 by Swiss viticulturist Jean-Laurent Spring at the Agroscope agricultural research centre in Pully, on the north shore of Lake Geneva, it’s a crossbreed of the Gamaret and Bronner varieties.
Divico was bred with the aim of producing a red variety with similar characteristics to grapes of the Vitis Vinifera species (such as Gamay and Pinot Noir), but with high resistance to mildew, grey rot and other fungal diseases.
