Zilga

Vigorous climber with edible fruits. Light green leaves turn yellow in autumn. It climbs by means of tendrils that twine round the support. Inconspicuous, fragrant flowers in May and June. Violet-mauve edible berries are borne in October. Undemanding, drought-tolerating, disease resistant and very frost hardy (down to -40oC).

Particularly useful for growing on high fences, screens, arbours and unsightly buildings.
