Sauvignac

Sauvignac

Sauvignac is a modern, white PIWI (fungus-resistant) grape variety developed in Switzerland by Valentin Blattner. It is a complex hybrid, generally derived from crossings involving Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and other resistant partners. It is known for high resistance to downy mildew and botrytis, producing aromatic, crisp wines with citrus and tropical fruit notes.

Wine styles:

The wines are often described as having high, firm, and stable acidity, with flavors of passion fruit, melon, pineapple, citrus, and sometimes mineral or herbal notes.
