Bride Valley Vineyard

Nestled in the hills of the Bride Valley, a short drive from the world famous Dorset Jurassic Coast, Bride Valley Vineyard boasts one of the most scenic landscapes on the South coast.

The village of Litton Cheney lies on the Jurassic Coast of South Dorset, twenty four miles as the crow flies from Kimmeridge, which gave its name to Champagne’s chalk-based soils. Seven different clones of Chardonnay (55%), four of Pinot Noir (25%) and two of Pinot Meunier (20%) were meticulously selected at Burgundy’s Pépinières Guillaume to match each individual plot. In late October the grapes are hand-harvested and delivered to our neighbour Ian Edwards of the award-winning, impeccable winery Furleigh Estate. Here, after the alcoholic and malolactic fermentations, the blendingfeat takes place in May for the second fermentation in bottle, the wines resting fifteen to twenty months on their lees. A light dosage after dégorgement retains the natural freshness and elegance of Bride Valley
