East Meon Vineyard

East Meon Vineyard was conceived, designed and planted by George and Clare Bartlett, who, with their family, provide all the annual labour. A large force of local volunteers assist with the harvest. Great care is taken in the production of the grapes, which go to Dermot Sugrue at Wiston Estate Winery for the expert production of vintage Berrygarden.

Berrygarden 2015

A deep and richly flavoured wine.

 

Tasting note: Pale golden and bright appearance with a radiant, copper hue. Candied lemon and wild strawberry aromas on the nose developing into subtle notes of orange blossom and apricot. Excellent intensity of citrus, floral and stone fruit flavours continue to evolve, balancing with a little weight on the mid palate and a fresh, bracing acidity. The mousse is soft and creamy and yet the structure remains tight and linear, leading to a chalky, mineral finish. After 46 months on its lees and further maturation under cork, this wine is delicious now and will continue to develop for a number of years.

Berrygarden 2014

A most attractive wine from an abundant year.

Tasting note: An attractive golden appearance gives way to a clean and delicate nose, exuding blossom, candied lemon and red apple notes. The palate is fresh and vibrant, with a core of orchard fruit and honeysuckle on the mid-palate and mineral complexity lingering on the finish. This wine is delightful now, and toasted, honeyed aromas can be expected to evolve further over the next few years.
