Brut Reserve

Grapes were hand-harvested in the cool of the morning. They were then whole-bunch-pressed into part stainless steel and French oak barrels (20%) for fermentation.
Full malolactic fermentation was done on the base wine to soften the 2021’s natural acidity, adding a creamy texture and depth.
Only wine made from the free run juice together with 6% reserve wine from previous vintages was used in the final blend to create the signature Leonardslee house style.
The final blend was bottled and it then underwent, according to the traditional method, second fermentation in the bottle.
This is followed by bottle maturation of approximately 30 months, and only then was it disgorged, corked and labelled.

Awards & Reviews:

“This is quite rich with some toast and cherry notes as well as pear, white peach and

citrus. Nice acid line integrates well with the bold fruit. This is a rich style but has nice

balancing acidity. Very stylish and impactful, finishing with some sour cherry.” 90/100

JAMIE GOODE, THE WINE ANORAK, 31.07.24

“If you’re having friends round, the Brut Reserve is a great aperitif, a mineral-pure

appley sunbeam of wine with lithe splendour.”

“Gorgeously crisp and green and red apple notes with a soft layer of berry on the

nose and sweet hints of brioche and almonds, rounded off nicely with a soft

creaminess in the mouth.”

REBECCA PITCAIRN, ENGLISH WINE DIARIES, 12.06.24

“Vibrant yet elegant with green apple notes and hints of yeastiness and brioche.

Lovely mouth-filling texture with no edges. Another cracker.”

consumer”
